Take your baby to the dentist by their first birthday.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Dental Association all recommend scheduling an appointment once your child's first tooth has come in, which is usually between 6 and 12 months.

As an introductory meeting, this first friendly visit gives Dr. Cara a chance to check for signs of early decay, as well as talk to you about cavity prevention and proper teeth-cleaning techniques.

In addition, in the event of a tooth injury or emergency, you will have already established a dental home at Pediatric Dentistry of Savannah just in case.
